Me too. Many installation problems and it requires so many changes to the workflow in the office that the staff is confused and less productive.

What kind of problems were you having? I had problems with the initial install of the demo and just ordered the live copy. If there are other issues, I would like to know now.

Thanks.

I sent 12 files to eSort and had a number of pages come back with about an inch or so cut off the right hand side of the page. The program also would cut off part of the bottom of some pages - anywhere from 2 to 3 inches to the entire bottom half of a page. It's only because I had a very experienced tax preparer that we even caught a couple of the problems. When I called tech support about these issues they said they would have to send them up to the developers since no one had seen these problems before.

I also didn't like how the program organizes all off the back sides of forms at the end of the file rather than having the back side of a page right after the front side of that page. So if you want to see the back side of a form you have to go to the end of the indexed file and try to figure out which of the back sides are the one you need to see. I'm guessing the idea to index the file this way came from a programmer rather than someone who actually had to use the file to prepare a tax return.

I had a lot of trouble trying to get to a refund for the program and the files I had sent to them to organize - took 4 or 5 phone calls and about a hour on the phone - after waiting on hold for over 30 minutes. I have always been impressed with Proseries support till now. They seem to be understaffed this year.

John, sorry to hear you were having problems. Although there have been some specific situations where customers were not able to access the product, it sounds like the concerns that you have cited re: truncating scans and pages is unique. I hate to hear that your experience was not what it should be and that you were not able to get the support you needed.

If you are interested in contacting us to discuss your experience further to help determine what we can do to help, including any concerns about your refund request, please be sure and click on our profile and send our team an e-mail.

For others having trouble with getting access to eSort, please know that we are aware of the issue and have taken steps to solve this issue. Since we recently made some important system updates to Document eSort which may not have been active when you last tried accessing the product, we would like to suggest that you try to launch Document eSort again to determine if an update is needed.

If an update is needed, please know that the updates are currently scheduled as follows:

For Lacerte customers: The update is scheduled to be available on Feb 12th

For ProSeries customers: The update is scheduled to be available on Feb 13th

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Regards,

Document eSort Product Team

I have not been able to launch or use. Have not seen this Feb 12th update. Is there a special process to get it?

I have given up also. The latest Lacerte update did nothing to help my esort and I don't have the time to spend on the phone trying to fix it. It is not worth it. Maybe next year.

There were install problems, but the main problem was using it didnt fit the workflow in the office. The girls also like to work from the actual documents and keep last year's file up on the second monitor to be able to see how things were handled in past years. Also, I didnt like that you couldnt annotate the files from doc esort like you can in DMS such as yellow highlighting, etc.

I have had the same problems. I send the documents to Esort and then they come back with a few inches from the bottom cutoff. The document is sent portriat and then gets turned to landscape for no reason.

It is just not reliable.
