You can use the Sort Bills By at the top of the pay bills window.  However, in my version newest is not a choice.  QB assumes that you want to see the oldest bills first.  And I might add, that if someone sends me a check and do not specifically say it is to pay a specific invoice, I apply it to the oldest one.

The screen I am in where I have this problem is the vendor center screen.  I can click on a vendor and then I will see all my information on this vendor and it shows all bills I have entered for them.  It used to show the bills with the most current all the way down to the oldest. I accidently clicked the arrow on type and it then reversed the order and I can't get it to go back to the way it was before. That is where my problem is.

You can click on the the word in he gray box. That will move the diamond to the new field to be used as the sort. If the diamond is facing up then it is ascending. If the diamond is facing down then it is descending.

Hope this helps. If so please mark solved, if not please ask more questions. Thanks!

No that did not change the order by clicking on the word, I have already closed out and reopened QB's too and that did not do anything either. I just don't understand why it wont go back to have the newest bill on the top? its just very aggrevating.

The solution

Hello Sharon,

Welcome to the community forums. We recently got the ability to add pictures to posts so I've included a screen shot below.

I highlighted the Date box that you need to click in the view you described which will sort your transactions in chronological order. You will notice the arrow is pointing to a triangle showing it is currently sorting down.

Date sort fieldIf this isn't what you are talking about, please provide a screen shot as I did, because this might help us solve your issue faster.

Respectfully,
Bryan
