No guarantees that this will work but it may be worth trying:

1. Look for your old spell dictionary file named UserDictionary.tlx. In QB 2007 or QB 2008 on a Windows XP mahcine, this file is found under C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks 2007 or Quickbooks 2008

In Vista or Windows 7, look for it under C:\Users\\Local Settings\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks 2007or Quickbooks 2008

2. Look for the similar file for QB 2009. On Windows XP, this file is found under C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks 2009. In Vista or Windows 7, look for it under C:\Users\\Local Settings\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks 2009

3. Rename this file to UserDictionary.tlx.old or something similar to change the filename. Then copy and paste the same file from the old folder location. Close and reopen QB. If you don't like the results delete the newly copied file and rename the old filename back to UserDictionary.tlx
