Sheesh...I totally missed the "Whats New" link.

You and me both, Rick!

I wanted to confirm but it seems that Power PC chip macs are no longer suppported. Can you please validate? If no longer can you please share how long do you plan to support the 09 version? Our business doesn't own any Intel based machines and we have no plans to acquire new hardware for at least 6 months.
Also can you confirm if simultaneous access to the database is now possible?. The feature is not checked off on the list.
Thanks

You are correct JEGL, QuickBooks 2010 is not supported on PowerPC based Macs.
QuickBooks for Mac 2010 does not support multiple simultaneous users.
More information is available in the FAQs.
Hi JEGL,
With our service discontinuation policy, we support a product for 3 years. Your 09 version will be good until 2012.
I hope this helps.

Hi mohdsaiful,
This forum is to help with questions about the QuickBooks for Mac desktop product. For information on QuickBooks Online edition, please follow the link below:

Amy,
I kind of think that mohdsaiful wants to purchase QB 2010 for Mac online but hasn't been able to do so because of country restrictions.
Is it possible that mohdsaiful needs to call somewhere?
In 2010 for Mac, are you able to expand the sizes of the custom fields? This has been my #1 problem with using Quickbooks in my business.

discocricket, I would like to have seen your question asked as a new discussion instead of being tagged onto this one, mainly because others might have the same question.
In Layout Designer you can change the size of the box for any custom field when you customize sales forms (invoices, etc.). I suspect, however, that you weren't asking about "size" of custom fields but rather their character-entry limitations. If that's what you meant, then the answer is that you cannot change the number of characters that a custom field—or any QuickBooks field—will accept.
Furthermore (to give you more information than you actually wanted, heh-heh), you cannot change the nature of any field. QuickBooks date fields will always be date fields, even if you change their names and move them elsewhere when customizing a form in Layout Designer. Likewise, text fields, calculation fields, etc. will retain their nature regardless of what you do with them in LD.
Lol, so the only new feature in that big chart is the set up assistant?

Nope, there's a lot more than that, seannyc. Read through all of the product page, including "Benefits."
Can you tell me if QB 2010 allows for manual payroll? Currently I'm running 2007 which doesn't. I have a service, but the download capacity doesn't yet work for mac.
thanks

Book1999, please start a new discussion with your query. It might be useful to others who have the same question.
One thing I am dying for in Quickbooks is to be able to be able to sort by amount, name, or memo (basically any of the header fields) in the "find" and "reconcile" screens. It would make my life so much easier!

glasses, please use the Feedback function in QuickBooks for Mac to describe what feature you want added. Include your business rationale; it might help.
(This discussion was simply about what was new in QB 2010 for Mac.)
Hey - I know this only partially counts - as the Intuit Community is "improved" and not entirely new, but I needed an appropriate place to post this....
I wanted to thank JFisher and Debi Calvet for helping solve a Vendor Bill reporting problem and once I hit solved, I could not seem to post a new comment to say "thank you."
So here it is.... Thank you, specifically both of you... and thanks to the whole community that works so hard to keep things moving forward.
Peter

Well thanks Peter!
That "solved" thing bothers me too. I've often wanted to add to a discussion and was stymied. Somewhere around here there's a feedback button. I'll make another request about the closing of discussions. Good to see you. :)
Thanks for the kind words Peter. Without JFisher and Debi this forum would be a sad and lonely place. We are looking at how to allow the asker to be able to both mark solved and thank the answer person. Here is a link to our user voice for the forums.
Please add your ideas and vote on existing ones!
Best regards,
Amy K

That was sweet, Peter. Thank you so much!
That "solved" lock out does bug a lot of folks—and I think it catches most people unawares too!
