ISW-How to create custom template from existing statement

I'm using ISW 2010 with Excel 2003 and QB 2010.

I have created a very detailed custom profit and loss statement for a company with three departments.  The base report is now exactly how I want it to look.  Now I would like to create a custom template to reuse for each of the three departments.  It would seem that then all I would have to do is to filter each statement by class to get the additional department reports.

I have looked everywhere for a way to convert my statement into a custom template and save it for use in this client (within the same report) or with other clients.  Has anyone done this?  I tried the "copy" function that is available when you right click the statement tab.  That does create a copy of the statement I created, but all the tools for modifying the statement are grayed out, so I can't even modify the new statement to filter by class.

Other than downloading, what would be the purpose of "custom" templates if you can't create and modify your own?

Also, has anyone found out where to download these custom templates that others have created?

Any help would be appreciated.  Intuit support has been unable to help.

An article on how to do this is being published as we speak. I will post the link shortly. If you need it sooner, please email me at isw_team@intuit.com and I can send you informal instructions.

I, too, need to know how to filter a report for a specific class within a company.  The posted link didn't seem to address this, but rather address using a template for more than one company.

Did the "filter" from the Statement panel not help?

Upgraded to ISW 2010, glad to see the filter for classes.  Still can't figure out how to create a template for a P&L that shows a column for each class (think qtrly stmt, but with columns for each class rather than each qtr).
