DO YOU KNOW? Reminders List & To Do List

DO YOU KNOW..... that QuickBooks can notify you if a lease is about to expire? Or that a tenant has been with you for a year or two or more? That you can be alerted that bills need paid, or something is due? Yep....it can do all these things and more. 1.Just Click on Company from the upper Task Bar....2.Click on "To Do List"...3.Cick on New, 4.and type in what you want to know and the day you want to be notified. It just doesn't get any better than that.Nancy Neville, Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, Author: The New & Improved Landlord and Property Manager's Guide to QuickBooks, Landlord

It actually could get a lot better than that, if QuickBooks would let you set reminders at different time intervals, say like monthly or yearly, instead of one at a time. An example would be... for our business we need to get up to date insurance certificates for all subcontractors. The certs. expire yearly so if we could set a yearly reminder for each company that would be wonderful. But as it is, we have to type them all in every year, which becomes very time consuming. I would love to find out that I'm mistaken and have just over looked something, or to hear any suggestions on a remedy for this problem.

MedAdapt:

When the Insurance Certificates notifies you that they have expired just change the last figure in the date and it will remind you the next year.

Example  Expiration date:  Date Notified 3/5/08  Change 08 to 09 and it's all set to remind you again next year.

I am trying to figure out how I can AVOID paying a subcontractor if his insuranc cert has expired. I am setting up each vendor with a note of the expiration date, but it would be much less time consuming if Quickbooks would just NOT LET PAYMENT occur if the insurance cert is not current.
