dates for comparative statements

US QuickBooks Premier : 2010: Accountant

Is it possible to insert current year and prior year dates in the header.  For example, I want the header to say "For the Years Ended December 31, 2010 and 2009."

I know how to get the current year to show up but without manually typing "and 2008" I don't know how to get it in the header.  My problem with manually typing 2009 is that next year it could lead to a mistake when statements are printed 2011 and 2009 because I forgot to manually change it to 2009.  If you are presenting comparative statements you should have both years listed.  All other software I have used has had this ability and ISW is pulling the prior year column heading from QBs so it seems like it should be able to recognize the prior year and have an insert for it.

Hi!

Intuit Statement Writer does allow you to modify column headers and add any text that you wish. This can be done in the Column Properties pane of the ISW Task Pane. Next to the Heading text field is a box-like icon that will bring up the Format Heading feature.

If you are wishing to modify the overall header of the report, this can be done a few ways. You can either add a Subtitle through the ISW Preferences in the Header/Footer section or you could view the Header in Excel and manually modify it.

Hope that helps!
