DOES PROSERIES PROVIDE A REPORT TO REVIEW TOAL FEES EARNED FOR TAX PREPERATION? TWO YEARS AGO THERE WAS PRACTICE MANAGER, BUT NOW THAT PROGRAM DOES NOT EXSIST.

HomeBase can easily be configured to provide this information.

I'm just curious since I've seen similar questions about preparers trying to retrieve fee information off of ProSeries. Is it rare for users of this forum to own some type of accounting software that would track revenues?

I suppose it would make sense for a larger firm. I'm a one-man shop, and I assign each client a separate subaccount number in Peachtree. Gives me all the detail I could ever want, right there on my official books. And (God forbid!) if I were to expand into a multi-partner firm, I'd just departmentalize the accounting system. Plus ProSeries HomeBase can be configured to give you the past three year' billings anyway. I think it's just a matter of it being easier to post a question than to read or think.

Archie you are a one person operation running Peachtree and we are a two person operation running Peachtree. I use Peachtree for all of our billing purposes so I don't use the ProSeries billing feature and was just kind of surprised at the number of people who have asked questions on how to retrieve revenue information off of ProSeries.

IRMN, I'm surprised too; retrieving the information from HomeBase is a piece of cake. I use ProSeries billing whenever possible; I love the way it shows up on the Tax History Worksheet and gives me a five-year bird's-eye view of the client's profitability.

I find it interesting that both IRMN and Archie Leach use Peachtree. I use it as well and have all of my clients recordkeeping on Peachtree, also. It seems that so many use Quickbooks (which I don't care for).

Careful Charlie - we are speaking blasphemy here on an Intuit forum, but I agree with you. I don't care for Quickbooks either. We have a lot of clients using Quickbooks but I am much more at peace with the world when I am working in a Peachtree environment.

Archie, you say how easy it is to get the billing info on the Homebase. I've asked Customer Service for this info more than a few times and it was never able to be completed.

so, how is it done?

Go to HomeBase > Column Headings. You'll get a dropdown list with Available Columns on the left. The first three available columns will be client billing amounts for 2005, 2006 and 2007. Select those. Then scroll down to Total Fees, and select that. Arrange them in order, and you have your four-year billing history, including the current year.

HomeBase is an incredibly useful feature, but the amount of information you can pull up for each client can be sort of overwhelming. It takes some planning and (for me) usually several different saved configurations.

this still doesn't give you the total revenue billed. It's just what was billed per client

I thought that was what you were asking for.
