Talk to them. Find out what is going on.
Keep track of every communication. Write it down.
Be persistent. Do not send a reminder one week or month and then let it lapse. Pick a schedule and stick to it.
There are third party actions you can use but these will cost you not only money but possibly your relationship with the customer. These include collection companies, attorneys/court, or placing a lien on their property.
