Are you looking to obtain credit for your Small Business but need to learn how to get it?

WHAT: Intuit will host a virtual town hall on Twitter, featuring small business owners, financial institution representatives and small business experts. This discussion will focus on access to capital for small businesses and provide insights and tips on how they can obtain credit, build relationships with their bankers and the steps small businesses need to take to get credit now.

WHY: While some of the world's largest companies are lining up to receive tens of billions of dollars in federal bailouts, small businesses along Main Street USA are scrambling just to obtain credit. The ability to access credit is critical for small businesses to start, grow and innovate.

The recent Intuit Future of Small Business Report on the Small Business Credit Outlook identified that community banks and credit unions are an excellent and accessible source of credit. As a leader in helping small businesses thrive and survive, Intuit is continuing its efforts to help small businesses save and make money by hosting another event as part of its Town Hall series.

WHO:

 Small businesses looking to understand, or give advice on, how to qualify for credit or obtain a loan.

 A financial institution that is actually lending.

o Phil Bryan, senior vice president of retail and lending at Metro Credit Union in Massachusetts, which is one of the largest credit unions in the state. Phil has managed small business lending programs at banks and credit unions since 1999. Metro is also the top SBA loan producer for credit unions in Massachusetts.

 Industry experts who can offer their perspective and give advice.

o Steve King, partner at Emergent Research, research affiliate at the Institute for the Future, fellow at the Society for New Communications Research, co-author of the Intuit Future of Small Business report series.

o Gene Marks, small business owner, expert and author. He recently co-moderated a series of Intuit Town Halls.
