I have QB Premier Edition 2009 and an familiar with how to manage and maintain QB. I have never actually began QB from scratch. I just set up my company profile but am now wondering where to begin in QB when I am running a restaurant? do I first have to set up the chart of accounts? or do I just begin with transaction that have been made?

If you did the EasyStep Interview, you selected which industry is for your business and it created a chart of accounts for you. You need to set up the items list for the things you sell. Since you're a restaurant, you'll probably enter a daily sales receipt from your register tape (Z tape). You may want to have someone help you make sure everything is set up properly and train you on how to enter transactions correctly.
