Getting a Website - Finally!

Growing my business

I'm not very brave. I'm pretty much a techno-dinosaur, but I pulled up my big girl pants and finally went to Intuit to build our hair salon's website. After two years in business I thought it was finally time to step into the present and move forward.  I strongly believe that a website presence will give us a boost and help grow our business. I'm still learning about email marketing, facebook, yelp and other social networks. We work hard on customer loyalty with our existing clients and most of the stylists would say that referral business is their number one way of growing.  However, I believe that now that we are partnered with Intuit and are venturing into the other technology networking arenas there is nothing to stop us from taking our business to the next level.

Advice for others

Being proactive, and not reactive, is the key to business success.  If you wait for customers to come walking in your door, then you are missing the boat.  You need to go out and drag them in kicking and screaming.  If you do a good job and treat them well, they'll come back and bring someone with them.  We never look at a client as one hair cut, but rather a lifetime of haircuts for that one client and their family and friends.  We are constantly marketing, working in the community to build good will and educating our team so that we are on the cutting edge...no pun intended.
