Helping those who help others
Launching my business
Very early into my Master’s Degree Program at Webster University for Human Resources Management, I was asked to start thinking about what my final paper was going to be on. It had to be a comprehensive study about Human Resources and Business. The problem as I was explained is that it’s hard to come up with a thesis on Human Resources Management because so much has already done, and there isn’t a lot of room for original thoughts or concepts.
I can sometimes be as stubborn as a donkey, and I’ve been known to never back down from what I deem as a “worthy challenge”. In addition, I had recently seen the movie a “Beautiful Mind” and in the movie the main character was obsessed with coming up with his original concept. The very thing God had put him on this planet to share with the rest of the world that had never been revealed to the world before through anyone else. I thought yes that’s it, I’ll ask the Lord for the knowledge to develop my original concept. Something that will be so ground breaking for His Kingdom here on earth, that it will help change the whole order of how things are done in His churches in order to reach the lost. I figured if God could make Balaam’s Donkey talk in the book of Numbers verse 22, surely He could give me such an idea.
So I began my research with my first class and continued through until I completed my degree, and what I learned wasn’t even earth shattering. I learned that 2 + 2 = 4 is the knowledge God gave me throughout my life, everything I could learn, or experience. However, what to do with 4, well that’s wisdom, and God in His infinite wisdom has already given man everything we need through His word, actions and love, so all we have to do is ask Him for wisdom, for this only comes from God. Therefore, I asked God for wisdom, to know what to do with 4, what to do with the knowledge that all of my schooling and experiences had taught me, and in asking God, He gave me enough of a portion of wisdom to understand this one thing. Why recreate the wheel, when the wheel has already been created?
That’s part of the problem we have in a lot of our churches today, we’d rather recreate something instead of use the wisdom that God has already revealed through others. So my original concept was to use the wheel, and combine it with the experiences, trials, and tribulations God has had me go through, and share that with others so others won’t have to struggle with the same thing. Instead they could simply partake in the proven organizational structures, detailed strategies, and operating systems that will set their Church up for success.
I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to preach it, teach it, live it, and then leave the rest up to God, so then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who fives the growth. 1 COR 3:7 (Holman). In my business I provide change models and training, that if followed or “planted” into an organization, and then “watered” by that organizations Leadership will be increased by God to accomplish the vision he has given a church! Therefore, I help the people and organizations, who want to, and do help people and organizations, what a blessing!
Advice for others
Use simplicity, don't recreate the wheel!
