I have officially moved to Florida!
Growing my business
Yes, folks, I have left my home state of Rhode Island for a much warmer climate. And I could not be happier. The business climate in Southwest Florida is superb to the Northeast. Rhode Island is not known as being a business-friendly state. They tax and fee you to death. It is very hard to have a small business up there. Many of the businesses owner's that were my clients could not survive during this economic down-turn and closed their doors. Many people left the state, including myself.
So, what is so great about the sunshine state? Business is better. Of course, the weather is better. No more corporate tax fee, savings $500.00/year. Hooray! Of course, I will always be a "Rhode Islanda" (New England accent just won't go away). And Rhode Island is a beautiful state to visit. Gorgeous shoreline, Newport, Block Island, etc., so I cannot totally remove those roots.
But it is wonderful to be a Floridian now. I love the sunny days, the hibiscus blooming and the palm trees. I love the preserve in my back yard. I have seen a Florida panther and bobcats back there. It is just a wonderful place with wonderful people. I will never go back to Rhode Island....well maybe to visit. :)
