Launching my business

Maria's Silver Butterfly started back in 1994 in Central America selling jewelry at bazaars or shows. One day a client asked me if I could come demonstrate some of my jewelry to her friends at her home. I didn't know how to do this, but I went there that night and presented my jewelry. It was a total success. The people loved it so much that I started receiving request to do it again and again. The result was the birth of my movable jewelry business.

The name Maria's Silver Butterfly simply came from the love I have for silver, butterflies and all came together by adding my name: Maria.

I am an active cook for my family and friends. It was my friends that motivated me to write a cookbook with the recipes I made for them. Two years later my cookbook, Tropical Cooking Made Easy, was published in 2007.

I am an intensive-care nurse and as a health professional. I am constantly washing my hands, requiring the use of hand creams often. Today, hand creams contain harmful ingredients and alcohol, reason for me to create my own line of creams and oils (named Silk Aqua Shield) that are free of radicals.

Advice for others

Stay focus, do not lose hope. Have God in your business decisions. Never give up. Competion in the internet is  heavy  and easy for anyone that struggles  to lose focus and motivation. Time, preserverance and  passion for what you do will conquer any difficulty. I have struggle for many years and still doing what I do best , working on my business.
