Luanching my business

Launching my business

About the Olive Branch

Located in Evansville, Wyoming (near Casper, Wyoming). We are practically the only supplier in the Wyoming area that supplies the Local Jewish community with supplies for service, gifts, books, food and much more. We started this company because there was a need in the community to have access to these types of items.

Our general policy is to serve others with the love of HaShem (Our Lord) and do that with good quality and great prices.

We have only been in business for six months now. The vision of the company is to supply the materials needed to keep an observant life style in an out of the way place that was affordable to the people living here. Supplying material for spiritual growth and doing it in such a manner not impose our own beliefs on others.

Vikki Nunn, Kathleen Bowden, Elizabeth Alltop, and Carolyn Herzfeld each had a vision of what the company should look like. Vikki originally from California, she saw a need for a kosher deli with wholesome food. Kathleen was born in Colorado and moved to Wyoming when she was five with her family. She saw a need for such materials as Torahs, Tanakh’s, Bibles, prayer books, and the like, a place where you could discuss what you are reading or thinking about. With supplies that would help you keep an observant life. Elizabeth is from Philadelphia and was homesick for the Jewish Delis that she grew up on. She is looking forward to running the Olive Branch Deli when the storefront opens. Carolyn is from Tennessee, loved the idea of the bookstore, and thought adding a coffee shop would boost customer interest.

We combined the ideas and started the company in May 2008; each one of us looked at what we had to offer. Vikki is an accountant by trade and formulated the business plan. Kathleen worked a retail Christian bookstore for a number of years. She also owned websites that she thought would help launch the company.

They are as follows:

Books, Bible, and Accessories www.Olivebranch-bookstore.com

Messianic Books and Products www.Olivebranch-messianic.com

Jewish Books and Products www.Olivebranch-Jewish.com

Kosher Groceries www.Olivebranch-Deli.com

Multimedia Products www.Olivebranch-music.com

Gifts, Apparel, Biblical Puppets/Toys www.Olivebranch-Gifts.com

Young Living Essential Oils www.youngliving.org/OLIVEBRANCHSKJB

Elizabeth is a hard working woman that owns Pet Nanny in Casper and knows the atmosphere of a Kosher Deli from Philly. Her husband is a local Contractor; Carolyn has worked in retail for a number of years and offered her experience and labor to the task at hand.

Because we are in Wyoming, we thought that it might be possible to get local raise beef, and lamb in the area and have it processed kosher. We are still in the process of setting that up, with the Rabbi’s, ranchers, shepherds, and butcher. We are really excited about the prospects for our Deli and Groceries!

Each one of us comes from a different background and up bringing, but we all feel that the accessibility to live a more observant life before HaShem (Our Lord) and men is important. Therefore, we wanted to help people come together and get the products, bibles, religious books, gifts, food, clothing, music, and the like in the middle of the west. Where it seems like there has been a great void for many years. Therefore, no matter your background, we can come together and get the things that each one of us feels is important to our walk with Him.

Kathleen is running the office now; her and her family is busy building the websites and maintaining them. We are currently working on the sites at this time and are adding products every day.

The storefront is still pending.

We are not open any of the Holy Days mention in the Scriptures, as most of the people employed like to observe them. No orders placed on the web site Friday after 5:00pm, Mountain Standard Time will be processed until the following Monday.

My brother, Kenneth, in Weirsdale, Florida, designed most of our Category Icons and our logo!

Enjoy your life and thank you for shopping at our web site.

Advice for others

Be pursistant, it has also helped us to follow the guide line from the Tanack, Scriptures.  Being closed on Saturday and closed during the feast of the Lord.  Word of mouth is the best addverizement.  Educate your self and work with other.
