Launching my business
Like a lot of businesses, Office Doctor started as the solution for problems with my own business situation, and came to find out that pretty much everybody in business needs what I do! For many years, I ran a series of non-profit counseling and life improvement services, doing all my accounting on paper ledgers and spreadsheets. The busier I got with what I loved to do, the more time all that accounting and admin work took away from what I wanted to do, and it was frustrating. Even worse, many of my clients were suffering the same frustrations, often compounded by disorganized paperwork and haphazard communications systems that would just snowball into bigger and bigger problems. One day, after hours and hours of frustration with getting my books straightened out, I said ENOUGH with this!
My husband had been using QuickBooks in his business for years, and although I wasn't really excited about what I thought would be a huge learning curve, I knew there had to be a better way. After my first few hours with QuickBooks, a HUGE weight lifted from my shoulders!!! This was exactly what I needed, and exactly what my clients needed. For the first time, I had the tools to not only free myself up to do what I do best (Organizing!!!) and be far more productive, but also to help my clients and friends do the same. Finally I made the best decision yet - I became a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, incorporated in Nevada and now I can help anybody and everybody in practically any business be more productive, more organized and keep more of their hard-earned money. I LOVE Office Doctor!!!
Advice for others
To stay positive, feed your mind every day with positive, motivational reading. Even when it seems pie-in-the-sky and not realistic, you never know where you will stumble across that gem of inspiration that will change your life for the better. Persistency and Consistency will always get you there.
