Word of Mouth Is the Best

Growing my business

Being new to the NH area, I started out by working as a seasonal tax preparer, and hoped that in the spring, I would find full-time work.  The employment situation was not the best, and I felt my age, experience, and credentials were further holding me back from finding the right employer and position.  I finally decided to go out on my own.  I knew I had to build credibility, so I reached out to a local networking group.  This was the best decision I have ever made.  I not only built credibility, but a network of friends, mentors, and resources that are valuable to both my business and my clients.

Advice for others

Social networking may have its benefits, but that face to face contact will build your business by leaps and bounds.  Don't just meet somebody once.  Take the time to get to know and trust each other.  Learn about each other's businesses, and become a referral machine for each other.
