We wanted to create a business that helped people manage their health and provided great growth opportunities as well.
Most Unusual Client or Client Story
A client who ate our gumbo for breakfast called because he was upset that we used pork. After I assured him that we don't use pork in any of our meals, I had to ask why he was eating a dinner for breakfast. We both laughed and he said that is partially why he can't lose weight.

Personal Bio
Since both of my parents were entrepreneurs, they taught me how to create wealth via the free enterprise system. I started my first business, which was cutting lawns for neighbors, at the tender age of eight. The entrepreneurial bug bit me hard and I started two other businesses in high school, painting restaurant windows and making custom buttons.
After graduating from high school, I joined the US Navy and served my country for 5 years as a Russian linguist in a special operations unit.
I began my culinary career at McDonald’s Corporation as an IT programmer and then transitioned to operations as restaurant consultant. After McDonald’s, I joined a large managed food services company as a Director of Business Development. To complement my knowledge of restaurant operations, I attended the Illinois Institute of Art’s culinary program.
I believe in volunteerism, which is why I sit on the board of two wonderful non profit organizations. These organizations include the South Side YMCA and the Primo Center for Homeless Women and Children. In addition to my board involvement, I am an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the 100 Black Men of Chicago.

We decided to aggressively develop an effective sales strategy. In 2009, we launched a customer rewards program to encourage word of mouth advertising, partnered with personal trainers by offering 5% commission for referrals and began offering free samples to influential people in the media.
