Growing my business

I am a CPA and was a Partner in a Big-5 Accounting / Consulting firm for many years.  I led a regional Finance Business Intelligence & Analytics practice.  I most enjoy working with entrepreneurially-minded business leaders that are looking to take their business to the next level---by streamlining and standardizing their business processes and information, and then working to harness and present that information in meaningful ways that improve management's understanding of the business and how to optimize its performance.  QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions has grown and evolved to a point where most major business processes have been well addressed.  There are many opportunities available to utilize the data that is a by-product of routine transaction processing in QuickBooks, in taking the business to the next level in terms of understanding key business drivers and improving business performance---if one knows how to capture, tap and then leverage the underlying data.  This is my proven strength.

Advice for others

There is the old saying, in the process of continuous business improvement, that one must first Simplify, then Standardize, then Automate, and then Integrate.  To effectively accomplish this in the context of QuickBooks, one must have a solid understanding of QuickBooks functional components and how they all fit together.  Then there has to be a sound plan for moving forward from where your are now, to where you need to be, with a well-conceived vision for how to get there, together with the required steps on a well-prioritized basis.  Simplicity, clarity and discipline of both process and purpose are key ingredients to success.  Everyone involved must have a clear understanding of what they must do and why and how they contribute to the success of the overall solution---getting the right information to the right people at the right time.  Solution design, functional prioritization, standardization, documentation and education are all key elements in achieving ultimate success with QuickBooks and in taking overall business performance to the next level.
