We asked first
Growing my business
When a client (one of the country's largest franchisors) asked us whether we could host Quickbooks for them three years ago, we had to say no: the QuickBooks EULA prohibited hosting. So I called Intuit.
and I called,
and called
and called, speaking to anyone who would pick up the phone.
Finally, I got through to the Enterprise team, who were all over the idea of finding a sizable IT company with 20 years of Financial Services experience hosting their product. But still the answer was not yet.
After about 100 more calls, I got a conditional single client EULA exemption, that allowed Uni-Data the right to host the files for about 1200 franchises. So we began.
and it grew
and grew
and grew, all the while encouraging my assigned account director to allow us to go further afield for clients.
and finally
it worked. Pleased with our clients response, and a need to reign in the madcap proliferation of unregulated hosting, Intuit established the Authorized Commercial Host Program, and we were one of the three first companies to be authorized.
So we're here, we've always been legit, and helped define the best practices that are part of the Program today.
