We see highly satisfied customers as the best source of getting new business.
As an outsourced accounting provider, we do the accounting for many companies. So we employ a much larger staff than a typical small to mid-sized firm. This allows us to combine the necessary skills to do a great job. We employ CPAs, Charetered Accountants, graduate accountants with experience. We also invest heavily in training our staff. We are constantly trying to improve the satisfaction of our customers.
If our customers are not "really happy" with us they will not be our champions. We are also focusing on multi-unit franchisees to develop our expertise in this niche business.
Advice for others
Focus on customer satisfaction. There is strong research evidence that the difference between the number of customers who are highly satisfied vs. who are merely satisfied is a strong predictor of growth.
Surprisingly higher productivity and higher quality go hand in hand. Look at your business and see if your results are predictable. More variable your results are means less control you have over processes. Higher productivity is critical because market is not going to tolerate routine price increases.
