I love the squid ornament and Josh cameos!
Best of luck! I'm very proud of you!
~Vic
Great video! It's entertaining and gives an even better feel for why EasyAsPieRecipes will be useful for all sorts of folks. Good luck!
I love the idea of this site! And this video was very cute and comical. I hope Easy As Pie wins!
i have a friend who is sugar and wheat intolerant and i know she struggles with her diet. i will pass your site on to her. by the way, josh might want to consider a career in the building industry - he rocked that whole manly construction worker look! and please tell me that our sweet little amy doesn't really sound like that when she sleeps! poor josh. by the way, do trader joe's sell chickens with their master's degree?!? great job amy!
I was skeptical at first, being someone who doesn't believe I'm allergic, but your chicken demo is nondisputable even for this microwave cooker! I'm hooked. I'm looking forward to using the site to avoid the things I don't like, rather than what I can't eat. I can't wait to enter "No butter" or "no mayo" and see what comes up!
Yay, Amy! I'm so exited to see the site up and running.
What a great video: it's Monday, I'm at work, and still I laughed! This looks to me like a true American entrepreneurial success story in the making ... Thank you, Amy, for saving the food-allergied among us from bland food and -- more importantly -- the rest of us who are stuck behind the wheat-intolerant and dairy-distrusting narcoleptics in traffic. This has got to be one of the very best contenders for the Grand Prize!
Keep it fun, keep it simple, and make sure it tastes good! A sure combination for success. Way to go, Amy. Julia from Upland, CA
I love your commercial and can't wait for the website to be finished. I will certainly be using it to plan meals for my intolerable family. I mean, family with food intolerances. I was actually surfing the net looking for a good dinner recipe when I found your video link. Hopefully, I won't have to surf the internet for an hour; I can just go to www.easyaspie.com! GOOD LUCK!
That was a better video than most of the ones that competed in that "On the Lot" show with Garry Marshall. I knew just how you felt when you were in the grocery store and couldn't find anything that worked. The visuals were very witty. Looking forward to using the site.
Great video! It is informative, encouraging and inspiring! I can't wait until all the features are available. I would love to have a printable shopping list and not have to worry. Great job!
"No primordial goo." What a genius idea! All too often specialty recipes require the skill of a five-star chef to prepare properly. I want recipes that are as simple as mainstream cooking when preparing meals for friends or family with food allergy issues. I also like the idea that the recipes appearing in the database will use everyday items. Many ingredient lists for allergy-conscious recipes look like a witch's brew. Who sells that stuff? Certainly no grocery store in my neighborhood in Ohio!
I would like to have a college educated chicken, please!
This is a great idea for a site. I am sure that the thousands of people with food allergies will find this an invaluable tool for ... well eating! Way to take a challenge and create a benefit for people. Oh and a great video too. Pretty funny!
Fantastic! Great idea! Great video! Easy as Pie seems, well, easy as pie! Can't wait to pass the site onto friends!
This is an awesome video!
Nice job! I love the chicken's grand entrance.
Very cool (and a worthy project). Good job keeping a straight face when you introduced the chicken; I'd never have kept a straight face. :) If I can figure out how to vote, I will.
I like the cute chef in the apron! But who's the monkey under the hardhat with the saw - Scarry! And somehow I think there are LOTS MORE than 7 million Americans with food allergies - probably more like 70 or 700 million. Most of us probably have no or low tolerance for some foods but just haven't figured it out yet. Your recipe business will prove a great boon to many hungry people.
Great Job Amy! I am so excited about your web site. I know I will find it very helpful! You put a lot of time into it. Thank you!
True spirit of the entrepreneur! Amy, you have found a void and filled it. Congratulations, especially because you have made it so palatable!
Sounds like this will be a convenient, personalized, timesaving resource for those needing help following specialized diets. Will be keeping my eye on this one!
Great video! So much clear information about you site! Makes me want to use your site for my own recipes! I hope you win the Jackpot!
I'm curious to see if your recipes can substitute splenda for sugar? Great video - primordial goo was hilarious!
Great Video!
Great video, Amy! I want to see you on late night infomercials! :) No, really, great job. I, too, like the Josh as manly man cameo - does that make me weird? :) Good luck with the biz! If you need a cool logo or anything, let me know, I'm branching out on my own soon, too, hopefully.
Looks great! Can't wait to use the site.
Awesome video Amy! I especiall liked Josh the construction guy. :) This site is going to be awesome. I will refer it to all kinds of people I know who can use it. What a fantastic idea!
Well done! I do not suffer from major food allergies, but I have a number of friends who do--I look forward to recommending your site.
Love the humor to ease through a frustrating subject. Also like the focus on the customers that you are serving- helping to make their lives easier. Great job and good luck!
This is a great idea Amy, and it will fill a need for so many people with food intolerance. Your video is cute, and funny, and charming. I know your site is going to be awesome! I can't wait to see it : )
Amy,
I finally got it to work. This is a fabulous idea. You are infomative and funny. Thanks for using your own need to help other folks, too. I love the concept and especially the actors! Blessings on your work.
I don't suffer from terrible food allergies and the ones that I do have are easily avoidable, however I have lived with people who because of their allergies and intolerances either go hungry a lot or eat terrible tasting food. This is a great business idea!
Very good job on the video! Really funny too! But I had to rate it as useful, because I can only imagine how amazingly useful this will be to so, so, so many people! Especially to moms feeding a family with several different allergies. I could even use it to diet! Sounds amazing! Can't wait to try it! Great job Amy, excellent acting!
Amusing video held my attention.
GREAT JOB AMY! The video was well planned out, entertaining, and informative. We really enjoyed it!
nice work!
Amy,
This is a fantastic venture! I have so many friends who would benefit from this type of resource. Kudos to you and I'm so thrilled you are feeling great!
Last I remember, you were going through some extensive testing.
Buon appetito!
This is a great tool for just about anyone who wants to eliminate foods from their diet. I will surely use it to customize my menus and get taylor-made shopping lists. Thanks - D. Lewis
Great video...what about Whoppers???
What a great new business idea. As a person who works to help people connect with ideas to make their life better, I already have three people in mind that can use this service. Good Luck and Continue to feel better!
Great video...I hadn't realized food allergies would be a cause of joint pain and or narcolepsy, or that so many people had multiple food allergies. I think your site sounds well thought out and will be a wonderful resource for everyone.
You must have had so much fun making this video. I love the chicken part. Laugh every time I think about it, that's why I had to comment here! As a gluten-avoider, I'll look forward to using your website as soon as it's ready.
Great video! You can leave all the squid out of any of my meals, even if I'm not allergic to it!
GREAT idea! This site should help many people!
What a great idea! I think this will really improve the quality of life for those w/ multiple food allergies.
Was that a cameo by the Hairy Alaskan? Funny, I always had him pegged as a lumberjack...
Great job! Amy - what a cutie with an awesome idea!
I have so many friends that could use this service / web site. Most recipes for allergic folks are handed down word of mouth, not easily searchable online. This would make it so much easier!
Good luck with your idea and funding!
:) Angela
Awesome idea!! I have a multi-food allergy family and it's always a challenge to prepare meals that meet everyone's needs without driving the kids to slip dinner to the pig.
I like the guy in the hard hat measuring the computer screen.... And yes, the squid made me cackle like a hyena. I was already excited about the website getting up and running--this just reinforces my excitement!
Thanks Amy, I am Rachel's mother-in-law and I have ALL of the allergies that you listed, and more. Thank you for all your hard work towards this great resource. It sounds like it will be VERY helpful to those of us who need it most but are not able to find the information we need for whatever reason.
Good luck to you and may God bless you for your efforts. Linda
This site will be helpful for professionals who work with families with special dietary requirements. Being able to suggest going to "EasyAsPie" for answers gives hope when the news seems so overwhelming. "So what can my child eat?" can have doable solutions. Thank you Amy!
Awesome! I am going to recommend this to people I know in Japan with food allergies. Well done!
Wow! You did such a great job explaining what the website will be and how it will benefit those with allergies. This is inspired!
Super video!
Super video! This should definitely win the competition!!
Right on Amy! (And was that a cameo by Mr. Walton as the construction dude? Very grrr.)
This is a fantastic idea! It is about time we have such a wonderful tool in our lives. Thank you for your brilliant idea. I surely hope you get this going, cause so many could benefit and better their quality of life.
Great idea. And now I"m really hungry for pie.
Awesome site. Will pass this on to my patients! Job well done.
As far as I'm concerned -this video is a winner! It's clever, informative, and actually makes me want to at least think about cooking (and believe me, that's no small accomplishment!)
Great video, and what a GREAT idea!! So creative and necessary!
Great video, great concept, cant wait for the launching of your website. Good Luck with the competition.
This is an amazing site not only because of the need for access to grocery friendly recipes for the millions of people with allergies to common foods, but the ease of accessing recipes tailored to the individual. Love your video complete with falling asleep at traffic lights and the man withthe hat.
Thanks Amy, for sharing. It was fun to watch the "construction" of your website. Good luck to you.
Terrific! Good luck with your site. Donnaree
I loved this video. It really made me understand exactly what this business is about- it made me laugh too. It sounds like your business will be an invaluable tool for people and families with food intolerances. It would also be really useful for moms whose children's friends have food intolerances.
Great video. I wish you much success.
Amy, You did an awesome job with your video! I am really looking forward to using your website!
Amy, this is Jenn, Vicky's girlfriend. I had gastric bypass surgery five years ago, and have struggled with my diet since then. I'm currently being tested for gluten allergies, and I'm dreading the results. Hopefully your Web site will bring me relief in the kitchen should the tests yield positive results. Thanks so much for putting so much effort into such a worthy cause. I'll pass it along to friends who also suffer from food-related allergies.
What a great job, loved it and perfect for those with food allergies.
Great video, Amy! I think you've done a great job explaining your website and how helpful (and easy) it will be for people.
So clever and amusing. I'm looking forward to utilizing the website!
This is a great idea. I see how much you care about others as well.
Finalist story from EasyAsPie:
Like many small businesses, mine was born out of my own frustrating experience. I’m one of the 7 million Americans with food allergies or intolerances. There are a growing number of food products for us, but it’s still difficult for people with allergies or intolerances to more than one food to find things to cook or eat. I founded my website, www.EasyAsPieRecipes.com, to help make the meal planning process for people avoiding specific foods as easy as, well, pie.
I battled a whole range of seemingly disconnected health problems from fatigue to joint pain for years. After realizing that naps at stoplights aren’t normal, I spent a lot of time in doctors’ offices before one of them figured out the problem—food intolerance. A month and a blood test later, I’d cut wheat, dairy, eggs, sugar out of my diet. I missed bread and omelets, but I’d never felt better!
I’d also never been hungrier. I roamed health foods stores and haunted the internet with a rumbling stomach, reading ingredient labels and browsing forums like a gluten-free ghost. It was almost impossible to find something I could eat! Though there are a lot of products and recipes for people who can’t eat one food, multiple allergies are another story. I’ve seen many end-of-the rope posts on online forums from moms asking, “But my kid doesn’t just avoid peanuts, he’s allergic to (tomatoes, rhubarb, cheesy weasel on a stick, you name it).” My website will enable users to set up a profile that eliminates recipes containing any food they want to avoid from their search.
One of the biggest difficulties I’ve had is finding recipes that won’t turn out to be a pile of unappetizing goo. Just ask my husband about the egg, wheat, dairy, and sugar-free “cake” I made. It was flat, burnt, and tasted like chocolate sand! The web is full of stories from people who don't want to eat allergen-free food because it’s just downright unappetizing, or who have difficulty finding the specialty ingredients for the recipes they can eat. My site uses simple recipes with basic ingredients that can be found at most grocery stores. No primordial goo here. Just dinner! Not only that, but the website will even generate a printable grocery list. Just log in, click a button, print the list, and you’re on your way to the “normal” grocery store. Putting this tool together has certainly helped me with my own meal planning. If the enthusiasm from those I’ve already told about my site is any indication, Easy as Pie will be a hit.
The best advice I’ve gotten is to focus on the benefits my customer will get from my product more than the product itself. You could say my business is about food, but it’s actually more about saving people time and effort. They will use my service because it gives them time groom their dogs or climb the mountains instead of looking for food they can eat. Keeping my eye on what my customers get out of the product helps me keep my focus on what is most important about the service I’m developing.

What a great "can do" attitude - I never realized so many people had multiple allergies. It seems your experience has really helped you find a market with important needs. Good luck with the launch of your site!
