A: On the Sign In screen, click on the "Forgot my User ID" link and follow the steps to retrieve your Intuit User ID. After you have obtained your User ID, continue to sign in on the Sign In screen.

A: On the Sign In screen, click on the "Forgot my Password" link and follow the steps to reset your password. After you have finished resetting your password, continue to sign in on the Sign In screen.

Q: I've forgotten my Security Answer. Can you help?
A: Here are some tips that may help you remember your Security Answer:
- Did you add any numbers or special characters?
- Did you use an alternate spelling?
- Did you add any extra spaces or a hyphen between two words?
- Did you enter two words, instead of one?
- Did you add an "s" to the end of the answer?
Note: Your answer is
not case sensitive (you can use either upper or lower case).

Q: Can I change my e-mail?
A: Yes. Sign in to the community site or Live Community in QuickBooks, click on the "Edit My Profile" link, and edit your account information. Note: Updating your email address on the community site does NOT automatically update your email address in your Intuit account. To update your email address in your Intuit account, log on to Intuit.com -> Account Info -> Member Info.

Q: Tips for creating a Password
A: To help you safeguard your personal information, here are some tips for creating a Password that will be difficult for others to guess.
Password Rules
- Must be between 6 and 30 characters.
- Can contain only letters and numbers.
- Cannot contain words from your Intuit User ID.
- Cannot be the word 'password'.
- Cannot contain unprintable characters such as spaces, tabs, carriage returns, or character combinations (such as Control+C).
Password Tips
- Use a combination of letters and numbers.
- Use the telephone number of a friend who lives out of town. Mix in letters.
- Use the name of a nonlocal river or town and mix in numbers.
- String two words or syllables together.
- Don't use words you can find in a dictionary.
- Don't use names of people, places, or things.
- Don't use an increasing or decreasing sequence of numbers or letters, such as '123456' or 'abcdef'.
- It's recommended that you change your Password frequently.

Q: Tips for Security Question and Answer
A: If you forget your Password, you can access your Intuit account by answering your security question. Safeguard the answer to your security question, just as you do your Password.
- Choose a question that has only one answer, so you'll remember the answer.
- Choose a question that has a one-word answer, so that it is easier to recall.
- Choose a question that has an answer others cannot easily guess.

A: No. You can use either upper or lower case.

Q: I didn't receive the Password reset e-mail
A: If you submitted a Password reset request but did not receive an e-mail with instructions to reset your Password, you may be having one of the following problems:
Problem: The message is delayed
If the e-mail address we have is correct, but you didn't receive the Password reset instructions e-mail, the message may be delayed due to a temporary e-mail service slowdown.
Try waiting 15 minutes. If the e-mail still hasn't arrived, click on "Forgot my Password" link on the Sign In page to reset your password. Your previous request will be disregarded because you were unable to complete the Password reset process.

Q: I got an e-mail saying I requested a Password reset when I didn't request it.
A: If you receive a Password reset e-mail, but you did not request it, someone else may have tried to reset your Password. Check with others who have access to your Intuit User ID information.
If you did not request the Password reset, simply delete the e-mail message. Your Password will remain unchanged.

Q: I'm being asked to sign in again— I already signed in once
A: If you signed in once, did not select "Remember me" for the cookies to remember your login, and are later asked to sign in again,
we may have automatically signed you out if there has been 45 minutes of inactivity.
This security precaution prevents others from accessing your account if you leave your computer unattended.

Q: I'm locked out of my account
A: If you try to sign in to your account more than 15 times in 10 minutes, access to your account is automatically blocked for 15 minutes.
This is a security feature to prevent someone from gaining unauthorized access to your account by using a Password-guessing program.
After 15 minutes, you can try to sign in again.

Q: Signing out
A: You can sign out at any time by clicking "Sign Out" on the community site or on Live Community in QuickBooks.
It's a good idea to sign out whenever you leave your computer unattended to prevent unauthorized use of your account by a coworker, for example.
