Laura Dion's business Cents-able Bookkeeping, LLC provides support and training for business owners and their employees to use QuickBooks and to troubleshoot and reconcile problems. Laura helps owners of small and medium sized businesses in two ways: by helping them get more out of QuickBooks and by helping them analyze and set business goals. She helps bookkeepers develop procedures that improve efficiency and workflow while maintaining the integrity of the data.

Laura is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor with Advanced Certification. She is a long-time contributor to the Intuit Community forums. She posts on several forums with emphasis on the Law Firm forum, helping with tracking Trust accounting and on the Restaurant forum, helping with setting up Daily Sales tracking.

Cents-able Bookkeeping, LLC specializes in troubleshooting user problems in QuickBooks and provides customized training by remote access, phone, and e-mail. By using remote access technology, Laura is able to have clients all over the U.S.

The company provides thorough file setups and reviews with the goal of customizing procedures to streamline data entry while maintaining accurate reports for financial as well as managerial purposes. Laura assists with reviews and reconciliations to provide the client’s accountant with accurate reports for analysis and tax preparation.

Past experiences

Laura began bookkeeping over 14 years ago when she was self-employed as a consultant and sales representative for educational books. Her first project using QuickBooks was over 12 years ago. As a single, home schooling mother of four children, all under ten years of age, she set up and maintained her landlord’s business in QuickBooks to help defray her rent. (using classes, of course!)

During that time, she went back to college to study accounting and, subsequently, began working for a local bookkeeping firm. Her desire to learn and grow led her to the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program. She is currently certified in QuickBooks 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010; POS v5, v6, and v8; Enterprise v7 and v9. Laura completed the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Advanced Certification in 2009.

Since 2004, Laura has been employed part-time at a local CPA firm as their Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor professional. She sets up, consults, and trains the firm’s clients to use QuickBooks in their own businesses, as well as trains and supervises the in-house bookkeeping department.
